Thailand - Burmese Refugees get ready for a New Life

IOM staff check the weight of the refugees baggage in the IOM Processing Centre in Mae Sot. Each refugee can take only 20 kgs to his new life in the final destination of resettlement. Established in 1951, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) works in Thailand for refugee resettlement from 1975. From 2004 her activity is oriented to the relocation for burmese refugees that fleed from the persecution of the army in their tribal area in Myanmar and live in one of the 9 camps in Thailand, in this last 6 years more the 60.000 of them are resettled in a third country , mainly in U.S.A., where they can build a new life. ( automatický překlad do češtiny  ) ( zobrazit originální popisek v angličtině )
