Sudan - HIVAysa prays at home in Obdurman, Khartoum, Sudan on Feb. 22, 2008. Aysa, who has been living with HIV for the past ten years, is one of the most prominent members of Sudanese People Living with HIV/AIDS Care Association, SPLWHACA, and often lectures on living with HIV as part of the outreach program of their organization. She is married with eight children and had a daughter three years ago who is HIV- as is her husband. The Sudanese government began addressing the issue of HIV/ AIDS publicly in 2003 and though there has been some improvement in the public attitude towards HIV, there still remains a great deal of work to be done.
