Shanda said to buy Ku6.com online video website

NASDAQ-listed Shanda Entertainment is reported to have reached an agreement with Beijing-based online video website Ku6.com to acquire the company through shares of a Shanda subsidiary in a deal estimated at US$44 million, industry sources said. It was the first merger and acquisition transaction in the Chinese online video industry, which has struggled for years for profitability, industry insiders said.
