Scene from "I was looking at the ceiling and then I saw the sky" at Theatre Royal Stratford East, 2.

Theatre Royal Stratford East in a co-production with Barbican Music composed by John Adams. Libretto & Lyrics by June Jordan. 2 - 17 July 2010 Set in Los Angeles, I was looking at the ceiling and then I saw the sky (a quote from a survivor of the 1994 Northridge Earthquake) focuses on the lives of seven twenty-somethings as they become intertwined on their journey toward love and self-discovery. When a catastrophic earthquake occurs, they are forced to confront unavoidable truths and their lives become irrevocably changed. Rich in the sound and rhythms of American urban life, the songs of John Adams' piece of musical theatre make a rippling counterpoint of several love stories against a background of misunderstanding, violence, idealism and ingenuity. Directed by: Kerry Michael and Matthew Xia Musical Director: Clark Rundell Assistant Musical Director: Sean Green Designer: Adam Wiltshire Lighting Designer: Jo Joelson Sound Designer: John Leonard Video Artist: Tal Rosner Movement Director: Jason Pennycooke Cast : Natasha J Barnes, Stewart Charlesworth, Jason Denton, Cynthia Erivo, Leon Lopez, Anna Mateo and Colin Ryan ( automatický překlad do češtiny  ) ( zobrazit originální popisek v angličtině )
