Reverend Samuel Schor as an eastern scribe

Postcard published by the London Society for promoting Christianity amongst the Jews - this is a picture of the Rev. Samuel Schor - dressed as an eastern scribe. He lived in Jerusalem and was a scholar on the Holy Land, organising an exhibition at the Royal Agricultural Hall of pictures and items from Palestine in 1907. This event also involved a host of individuals in clothing of the region - it is not hard to assume that Rev Schor was partaking of this himself and is seen here in this very costume!
