View of the ornate Pavlovsk railway station building in the St Petersburg district, Russia. The first railway in Russia was opened between St Petersburg and Pavlovsk in October 1837. The station building was used as a concert hall, with Johann Strauss II, Franz Liszt and Robert Schumann among the celebrities who performed there. In this photograph a kind of bandstand can be seen, with music stands and music set out on them.
