Sept. 17, 2011 - Orvieto, U.S. - This religious procession wound through the streets of Orvieto, Italy. The Iphone is surprisingly good in lowlight situations like this one.I'm thankful for small miracles like how the saint in this procession was frozen by a slow shutter 1/17th of a second, where all the other figures are moving. Actually the saint is still because i was panning the camera as the procession passed. Panning is a technique where speed can be expressed by blur. In this image the blur is fairly subtle which you can see that the people and buildings of the alley way are soft in focus. ] Richard Sennott/Star Tribune.
