Karen Souza, Brazilian Jazz Singer, first show in Santiago Chile

Karen Souza began her career under various pseudonyms as she provided vocal support to a number of electronic music producers and was part of several International House hits on her label, Music Brokers. She can be found singing under these pseudonyms on albums such as Pacha Ibiza, FTV (FashionTV) and Privé. The Jazz and 80's series of CD's brought Karen into the spotlight when she recorded her version of Do You Really Want to Hurt Me? by Culture Club in 2005. This was followed by her recording jazz versions of Radiohead's classic song, Creep as well as Personal Jesus by Depeche Mode a year later on the following volume of the series, Jazz and 90s. Beatrice Ardisson of Naive chose Personal Jesus for inclusion in the 6th volume of her series Paris Dernière and requesting that Karen create further tracks in this vein for upcoming projects. Karen´s label took note of this interest and in 2007 she appeared on two different albums. The first was yet another volume of jazz versions, this time titled Jazz and 80s Vol. 2 where she sang on the tracks Every Breath You Take (originally by The Police) and a duo with fellow vocalist Jamie Lancaster in their version of the king of pop, Michael Jackson's immortal Billie Jean. She also participated in a Brazilian project titled Brazilian Chill Sessions where she recorded a version of Corcovado (Quiet Night of Quiet Stars) written by Antonio Carlos Jobim. In 2008 she joined the same production team in the studio once again and recorded two tracks for the album Jazz and 70s, Wake Up and Make Love With Me by Ian Dury and The Blockheads as well as Have You Ever Seen the Rain? by Creedence Clearwater Revival. She also began to play some small gigs at private corportate events in Sao Paolo, Brazil and in Caracas, Venezuela. In mid 2009 she went back and recorded New Year's Day by U2 for the third volume of the Jazz and 80s titles along with a rendition of Kim Carnes Bette Davis Eyes. She does not appear on the last title of this series, ( automatický překlad do češtiny  ) ( zobrazit originální popisek v angličtině )
