The statue of Johann Christoph Friedrich von Schiller (1759 - 1805) the German poet, philosopher, historian, and playwright in Frankfurt's financial district - its skyscrapers from a new era rising behind. In Friedrich von Schillers honor the city of Frankfurt errected this Memorial on May 9, 1864 at the Hauptwache. The bronze is styled by Johannes Dielmann at the cost of 14,070 Gulden and 17 Kreuzer. 1938 the bronze was moved to the Rathenauplatz.
