Cornelius Family FoundationĂ•s Outstanding Police Officer of the Year. - The Clearwater Rotary Club is presenting its Joseph F. Cornelius Family FoundationĂ•s Outstanding Police Officer of the Year Award and the 2011 Rotary Public Safety & Service today at a noon luncheon at Belleair Country Club. Police Officer of the Year William Nahorodny, ran into a burning apt. building to evacuate all the residents. Public Safety & Service Award recipients Detective Chris Householder (Police) and Lieutenant Mark Smyth (Fire). The late Joseph F. Cornelius, former president and CEO of the Bank of Clearwater, founded the annual Police Officer of the Year award to recognize heroism or exceptional accomplishments.
