Cholera quarantine at Marseilles.

Quarantine for officers of ships that are in detention, visited by their wives and children. Travel played a large part in the spread of disease. In the nineteenth century, cholera spread from North-east India towards the east coast of Africa. It only took a couple of years for the disease to reach Europe.
