China tests Shanghai-Hangzhou High-speed Railway

A CRH (China Railway High-speed) train runs on the Shanghai-Hangzhou High-speed Railway during a test run in Jiashan county, Jiaxing city, east Chinas Zhejiang province, 1 September 2010. The Shanghai-Hangzhou High-speed Railway is scheduled to officially start operation in October 2010, reducing travel time between the two cities to 38 minutes. Trains on the 160-kilometer railway line are designed to run at a maximum speed of 350 kilometers per hour and will cut 40 minutes off the current journey time by express train between the two cities in east China. The high-speed railway line, which has a total investment of 29.68 billion yuan (US$4.35 billion), commenced construction in February 2009 and is expected to transport 80 million passengers a year. ( automatický překlad do češtiny  ) ( zobrazit originální popisek v angličtině )
