Army discharges open critic of Don't ask Don't Tell policy

June 13, 2010, Brooklyn, New York, USA: Openly gay New York soldier, Army Lt. Dan Choi, was let go by the Pentagon on July 22 after becoming the national face of the battle to overturn the “Don't ask Don't Tellî policy. The Iraq war veteran and West Point grad was given an honorable discharge, following a year of battling efforts to do so after publicly coming out on the Rachel Maddow Show. 29 year old Choi was a reservist and member of the New York National Guard. Earlier the is year he chained himself to the White House fence to protest the 17-year-old law that enforces women and men in the military to closet their sexual identity. ///Lt.
